UNHCR in Confidence Vote for AUN Partnership
“We have never been disappointed by AUN; you have one of the best structures, capacity, and staffing to implement programs that target people of concern like refugees and returnee IDPs.”
Program Officer for the UN High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) sub-office in Maiduguri, Borno State, Marjorie Mua, was speaking on May 18, when she visited the Atiku Center at AUN with her counterpart from Yola.
Ms. Mua, a first-time visitor to Yola, was impressed with AUN’s innovativeness in sustainable solutions, like the ‘waste-to-wealth’ program and ‘creating with thread.’ She described the university as an empowering campus with a good environment and structures for studies.
Grant Administrator of Atiku Center, Dr. Audu Liman, welcomed the visitor and expressed happiness partnering with the UNHCR to improve the livelihood of the disadvantaged in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states.
Senior Director of Procurement at AUN, Hansen Ivara, was excited about AUN’s involvement in UNHCR’s vision of transforming and impacting lives. Director of Internal Audit, Sukat Boniface, promised that AUN would not relent on its partnership. “We will make sure that whatever fund comes here will meet and touch lives.”
