On July 4, an alumna, Asmau Abubakar Umar, gave out new ready-made clothes to students in the Feed and Read for Boys program, in preparation for the last Sallah festivities.

Ms. Abubakar, who teaches in the program, joined community service when she was at AUN and became passionately involved. “For me, it was love at first sight,” she said. She is committed to serving her community.

The program’s coordinator and former SGA President, Joseph Oladimeji, was delighted with Ms. Abubakar’s gesture, describing it as “remarkable.” He noted that giving back to society as a way of ensuring peace is one of AUN’s core ideals.

“At AUN, we are obsessed with peace. This is what we do in AUN. This is what we live and dream for. I am so glad that she could do this.”
